Phishing and other attempts at fraud
Identifying risks and reacting correctly

Emergency situation or in doubt?
We will be happy to help you.

Anyone can fall victim to an online attack or attempted fraud. If you’ve been the victim of fraud or simply suspect you may have been, you need to act quickly.

Have you entered your details on a phishing website? if so, you need to do the following:

  1. Change your password: Change your login or e-mail passwords to Swiss Post services immediately in our customer center. You will need to change login data for other portals such as social networks, auction sites, other payment systems or credit card details directly with each provider.
  2. Carry out a security check: Use the online security check available from the Swiss Internet Security Alliance (SISA) at ibarry.ch to make sure your system is not affected by malware.
  3. Block credit cards: Block your credit card if you have already provided your credit card details. Most providers include a phone number on the back of the card that you can call to have your card blocked.

Report suspicious messages

This will help to protect other people. Report the e-mail or suspicious website to the Swiss National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) or forward the e-mail to reports@antiphishing.ch, if possible as an attachment to retain all the information on the original sender. Then delete the e-mail to avoid falling into the trap.

Have you been the victim of online fraud?

If so, report the incident to your cantonal police force.

At Suisse ePolice you can report various types of cybercrime online in some cantons without having to visit a police station. The crimes reported are sent directly to the relevant police department and automatically entered in the reporting system.

Are you in doubt about whether a message is actually from Swiss Post?

We will be happy to confirm whether fraudsters are at work or whether an e-mail or SMS you received really came from Swiss Post.
