What is a deposit?

Receive registered items without a signature
With an authorization for delivery, you can receive and sign for registered letters and parcels without being there in person.

Frequently asked questions
With a verified customer account in the “My Post” customer portal, you can manage when and where we deliver your consignments.
Depending on the processing status of the consignment, or due to sender instructions, not all services can be offered. Therefore, only the services which can still be selected at that time will be shown.
You can place orders with us up to midnight on the day before delivery. As far as possible, we try to take later orders into account.
The last possible time to change the delivery date or redirect to another address is before midnight. These options are therefore displayed in the online service or Post-App based on availability.
As an alternative, we recommend the permanent settings options.
With the exception of the “Desired day” permanent setting, you can “override” all your recipient settings using individual orders.
Select “No deposit”: if you are not at home and your parcel is too large for the mailbox, we will notify you via a collection note.
As a “My consignments” customer, you will be informed in good time if a parcel is on its way from abroad and import costs are due. We will notify you by SMS, e-mail or push notification via the Post-App. You can pay the import costs easily online with the PostFinance Card, PostFinance e-finance, TWINT, Mastercard, Visa or American Express.
Import costs include state duties for customs and VAT, as well as other fees and service costs for customs clearance that are incurred in connection with the import of your consignment.
To ensure that you can find a consignment that you send or return in the consignment overview, please make sure that you mail your consignment using your account (e.g. pick@home) and that your sender address matches the one registered in your Swiss Post Customer Login.
You can also add consignments manually. You need the consignment number to do so.
Log in to the “My Post” customer portal.
Go to My profile > Address
If your address is verified, you will see “Address confirmed”. Otherwise, you have the option to request an activation code, which we will send to you by post at the address you entered. As soon as you have entered the code in the “My Post” customer portal using the details in the letter, the address is activated. You will start receiving the notifications immediately and your consignments will be shown in the consignment overview.
Since this service enables Swiss Post to deliver your consignment directly to your chosen location, the distances travelled are reduced for both Swiss Post and you. This helps to reduce CO2 emissions and protect the environment.
