Send oversized or unpackaged consignments

Up to 30 kg

The following dimensions apply to consignments up to a maximum of 30 kg:

• Length: maximum 200 cm
• Girth: maximum 400 cm (2 × height + 2 × width + longest side)

Up to 10 kg

The following dimensions apply to consignments up to a maximum of 10 kg:

• Length: 200 to 250 cm
• Girth: maximum 400 cm (2 × height + 2 × width + longest side)

Ensure that the maximum permissible weights and dimensions are observed. You should always split consignments into several parcels.

If we receive parcels that are too heavy or oversized, we will, as an exception, deliver them by the most appropriate means and in accordance with our capabilities. This ensures that your parcel reaches its recipient as quickly as possible, saves on transport and means that you don’t have to collect the parcel. We reserve the right to restrict the range of services for these parcels. We apply the following surcharges for expenses incurred:

• CHF 100 (excluding VAT) for weights up to 40 kg
• CHF 135 (excluding VAT) if the weight exceeds 40 kg or the maximum dimensions are exceeded

If we cannot deliver the consignment, you will be required to pay the same surcharge for return shipment. No surcharge is applied for forwarding consignments.

There are goods you can send without packaging. Other purposes include the following:

• Tyres
• Canisters
• Sports and travel bags
• Luggage of all kinds, with or without wheels, handles or other external grips
• circular consignments

You may send other goods only with packaging . This is because they could otherwise be soiled, damaged, lost or hurt someone. You may not send the following items unpackaged:

• Dirty items
• Bicycles, wheelbarrows
• Sports equipment such as skis, ice hockey sticks, weights
• Pointed or sharp objects such as cutters or wire mesh fencing. Please note: it is not enough to just protect the blades or tips.
• Objects that are not fixed in their form, such as loose conductors, cables or hoses, individual full or empty glass or PET bottles
• Open plants
• Filled bottle crates and boxes without lids, even if they are protected with a film

This list is not exhaustive. You can pack the contents in cardboard boxes, shipping boxes or suitable bags.

Private individuals and business customers can use the “Bulky goods” service.

In the event of loss, damage or incorrect delivery, Post CH Ltd is liable up to a maximum of CHF 500 in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for private customers (PDF, 96.8 KB) or the General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for business customers (PDF, 116.1 KB) without value-added service.

Liability can be declined for scratches and dents on unpackaged objects. More detailed information can be found in the Instructions for sending parcels (PDF, 4.7 MB).

For parcels forwarded to another address at the request of the recipient, the recipient must pay a flat fee of CHF 8.00 (incl. VAT), regardless of the weight of the parcel. If the recipient returns the parcel to you after receiving it, this is deemed a reconsignment, and the corresponding parcel price must be paid. Notified parcels and express items that cannot be delivered or remain uncollected will be subject to tax and returned to the sender via the PostPac Economy or Bulky goods Economy service, depending on the format (for return shipments, a surcharge of CHF 0.50 incl. VAT is levied). The corresponding price is charged to the recipient for any forward shipments and to the original sender for any returns.
