Who is this service for? Preconditions
“OnTime Mail” is a domestic mail service for business customers who maintain a billing relationship with Swiss Post.
Important information
The minimum quantity required to use OnTime Mail is 10,000 items per format, sender and service.
Only postage paid impressions (PP) may be used for specific-day delivery with OnTime Mail.
Regardless of the volume, please give notification of OnTime Mail consignments no later than three working days before posting.
You can give prior notification via the “Send advance notice of letter mail” online service in the Swiss Post Customer Center.
OnTime Mail consignments must be posted in one of the designated acceptance points no later than 5 p.m. four working days before the chosen delivery date.
Letter centers and logistics centers for OnTime Mail
The following points are particularly important when mailing with OnTime Mail:
- The delivery format determines whether a refund or exemption from the special item surcharge can be granted. You can find an overview of possible delivery methods and potential savings in the “OnTime Mail” factsheet.
- For sorted mail, you must separate mail sent to domicile addresses from mail sent to P.O. Box addresses and label them separately. For unsorted mail, no separation is required.
- OnTime Mail consignments must be labelled with green bulk and container labels and the delivery date must be indicated.
- As is the case with all PP consignments, sorting center and postcode area bundles are not permitted and cannot be processed as OnTime Mail.
Liechtensteinische Post delivers B Mail consignments, and therefore also OnTime Mail consignments, but only on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you want a specific-day delivery on a Wednesday or Friday, we recommend the following:
- Post consignments for Switzerland as OnTime Mail as usual.
- Post consignments for the Principality of Liechtenstein on the previous day (Tuesday or Thursday) as A Mail
This will ensure that your consignments reach all households in Switzerland and in the Principality of Liechtenstein on the same day.
Swiss Post assumes no liability. The General Terms and Conditions of Swiss Post apply.
Electronic tracking of consignments and their processing status is only available for OnTime Mail consignments for full pallets. Detailed information can be found in the “Consignment tracking for pallets” factsheet.
We invoice the services through franking licences set up especially for you. You receive a monthly invoice with a detailed list of all transactions.
